9/8/2011 The Education Rountable will be sponsoring a mayoral debate on Wednesday, September 14 from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. at the New Bedford Whaling Museum. The debate will be moderated by Education Roundtable Chair John Bullard. The panelists asking the questions will be Roundtable members Lee Blake, Denise Porche and Dr. Bruce Rose.

will be on Wednesday, September 21, 2011, 6:00-9:00p.m. at Keith Middle School.
The Massachusetts Department of Public Health will hold two meetings on Sept. 27 to discuss their investigation of cancer incidence and serum PCB levels for the PSWS neighborhood. The first meeting will be for NBHS staff from 2:30 to 4:00 PM in the Green House cafeteria of NBHS, and will cover their evaluation of the indoor environmental conditions at the high school, including staff health concerns, and the results of staff serum PCB blood testing. The second meeting will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM in the Community Room of KMS and is open to the public.

April 4th rallies in Fall River & New Bedford - The rallies are part of a nationwide day of rallying and solidarity not only to commemorate the 43rd anniversary of the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr (many people don't realize that MLK was in Memphis supporting striking sanitation workers when he was killed), but also to continue to show that we stand in solidarity with workers around the country who are coming under attack by new Republican Governors, State Legislatures, a new Republican House in DC, and their corporate benefactors. 3/14/2011 The Coalition for Buzzards Bay is looking for Educational Docents to engage visitors to their new Bay Learning Center in New Bedford. Docents will be provided initial training and ongoing docent enrichment opportunities and will maintain a regular, but light schedule. You don’t need a science background to participate, just a love of New Bedford, Buzzards Bay, and the South Coast.
